Largest Indian Bank Moves To Its Own gTLD

State Bank of India logoIndia’s largest bank by assets, the State Bank of India, established in 1806, moved its online operations to its .SBI domain in early February from sbi.co.in.

One of the benefits for the bank is the security offered for the bank’s customers.

“Due to its non-replicability, a gTLD site like ‘.sbi’ conveys an assurance to the customer that the site is authorised, genuine and is not an inappropriate or phishing site,” SBI said in a statement.
