Domain Movers: 3H.com, Estimate.com + More

Welcome to the latest Domain Movers series where we focus on corporate domain name transactions and report the early findings to you. These are often early indications of new brands, services, products and advertising efforts by some of the largest brands in the world.

I have been sick all week, so this is the first Domain Movers of the week. I’m still sick but have been collecting a little bit of data all week and figured I would share what I have collected now, so it’s a bigger list than normal for one article. Enjoy, a lot of high valued, powerful domain names in the list:

BossFiles.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since May 2014

Cooper Surgical, Inc. has acquired CooperMedical.com with the assistance of domain buyer Marksmen for an undisclosed amount. The company uses CooperSurgical.com currently but it’s logo states Cooper Medical Supplies and IMO the newly acquired domain name better matches what they offer.

Hearst Communications, Inc. has acquired GreenState.com with the help of CSC Corporate Domains. The domain has been registered since 2000 and appears to have been acquired in December 2016.

Whittenberg Construction Co. has acquired EMD Whittenberg.com, which held a purchase price of $21,000 at the time of the transaction. The domain name was owned by Frank Schillings company Name Administration Inc.

Eligible, Inc. a medical billing company co-founded by CEO Katelyn Gleason, a 2011 graduate of Y Combinator locked down $25M in funding in April 2016 and acquired the premium exact match domain name Eligible.com with the help of domain buying service Marksmen around September 3, 2015. The company upgraded from the “restrictive” brand/domain EligibleAPI.com.

PremiumWin.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since March 27, 2015

AbbVie Inc. registers ShitHappens.info, which certainly could be related to the seizure of Vicodin.com by ICE? It would be funny at a minimum if that was the reason for the domain registration.

Experiment.com was acquired by former Microryza for $54,000 in a rebranding effort. More on the domain purchase can be read here. In general, they got a good deal on the domain because the domain seller liked the idea behind the business of Microryza. Also to note, the company paid $7,500 for Ryza.com, a domain they were going to use as its main brand, which is noted in the story.

XmenNewMutants.com has been registered for the X Men movie series. Several different spellings and hyphen versions were also registered.

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla announced a new business called Neuralink. The EMD Neuralink.com was owned by Neuralink IT Solutions and went into privacy protection between June 2016 and October 2016. The whois history then shows a James Brickhouse of Los Angeles California at domain registrar GoDaddy, which then carries over to domain registrar Google, then into privacy in November 2016. The website shows a new logo and simply an email address for jobs. It is not clear currently if the change of ownership is related to the new Musk venture.

Wells Fargo & Company have acquired LeaseConnect.com at domain name aftermarket service Afternic.com. The domain was for sale using Uniregistry market at the time and I wasn’t able to find a sales price.

Hogan Lovells LLP has acquired LivingIt.com, which was listed on Sedo. The law firm often acquires domain name on behalf of Facebook.

BHGE.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain is registered at GoDaddy currently and has been registered since 2004 and was owned by Outpost Enterprises prior.

Estimate.com has been listed for sale by Sage Software with corporate brand protection service MarkMonitor. The domain holds a hefty offering price, rightfully so! You will need to make an offer north of $500K if you are interested but this is a really great domain name.

WhiteZinfandel.com has been acquired by Trinchero Family Estates with the help of domain buyer Marksmen. The domain was owned by FreeRun prior. Trinchero Family Estates uses the domain name TFEWines.com and owns about 450 domain names and many brands of wine and spirits. Sutter Home was the brand that was most recognizable to me but I’m not much of a wine person.

GameForLife.com has been acquired by the Pro Football Hall Of Fame out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. It is likely that this domain was purchased through the Afternic DLS system, as the domain transferred to Network Solutions. This also tells me, it’s likely the domain was “searched for availability” at NSI, displayed because of the Afternic DLS and purchased at that time.

Sony Music Entertainment registered the domain name StillStriving.com adding to the over 7,000 other domain names they own.

Auxiliant.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain moves in from 1&1 where it has been registered under privacy for many years.

FromTheAshes.org has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain name was for sale using the Unirgistry system.

3H.com has been sold by United Online Web Services, Inc. into the Chinese market. If my memory serves me correctly, this is the 4th 2 character .com domain they have sold recently. i8.com, 9F.com and 5U.com were the prior ones. From what I can tell, they have 4 more 2 character domains left.

ClubRoom.com which was owned by Lycos, Inc. has transferred to GoDaddy under privacy protection. The domain is resolving, using a Squarespace website that appears they are in the process of building. “Brine” is mentioned and appears to be offering personal care products like Shampoo, body cleanser, hair gel and more.

CM.com which I mentioned appeared to have sold, has transferred over to GoDaddy. The CM.nl name servers remain and the domain name resolves to CMTelecom.com

Every.com has been bouncing around as of late. The domain was owned by Digital Virgo Entertainment and registered at CSC Corporate Domains. On October 24, 2016 the domain transferred to Amazon’s registrar under privacy protection and to Amazon hosting. The above remained until March 30, 2017 when the domain transferred back to CSC and under standard CSC name servers. The domain name currently does not resolve and archive.org doesn’t show any records after 2014. I’m not sure what is up with the movements or if Digital Virgo still owns it or not.

Foghorn.com has transferred into CSC Corporate Domains out of privacy protection at domain registrar Google. The domain had been owned by Avalon Publishing Group prior to the move to Google’s registrar and whois records currently display Hachette Book Group as the owners of the domain name. Hachette acquired the publishing business of Avalon.

BurstMode.com has been acquired by Shopify from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc. The domain held a $19,000 buy now price.
