Details of a $17,500 domain name sale from start to finish

Domain Name sale story

When hearing about sales it’s always great when you can get the full story. To go from opening offer to negotiations to a successful closing.

Namepros member Uzver wrote a detailed account of a sale of a two word .co that brought home a great price.

The name was bought in May 2019.
Listed it for sale at $9,888.

They go on to explain that On July 21st, 2020 they reduced the price to $8,999, and the very next day I received a legit $5,300 offer from a North American company. Without quoting any prices I asked them to bring the offer up a bit. Received zero responses to my “counter” email as well as on multiple follow-ups.

As a coincidence, that same summer I received a $3,500 offer for another .com domain that was priced at $7,xxx. And I also received zero responses on my proposal to increase an offer.

You can read the full story on Namepros which also has a couple secondary stories where one member and the seller go back on forth on the quality of the name. The other subplot was one member going back and forth on paying taxes. These secondary stories are why many choose not to share details of a sale.
