In this edition of Brandable Bits we will look at a big brandable sale, recent additions to BrandBucket, and the possible retirement of BrandBucket’s worst nightmare.
Snappa.com sells for $40,000
At the start of last week Chris Gimmer the co-founder of Snappa, published an article on how his company acquired the .com for his company. Snappa is used to create a wide range of graphics for social media, display ads, blog posts, and more.
Mike Berkens commented that the buy it now model of BrandBucket is something he would never use. For a pure brandable he believes make an offer is the way to go.
Certainly Snappa.com is a name that would get approved for BrandBucket and would probably be priced in the $2,000 to $3,500 range.
Recent additions to BrandBucket
There were 318 names added to BrandBucket according to their latest email.
Animals and other creatures had a fair showing, names like PantherPay.com (which I think looks cool with the logo), ScoutBear.com, SwipeChimp.com, StaffPanda.com and CashCrab.com. There were 24 names in total.
I did see a few names with the keyword chirp, I guess that is in favor over at BB.
Adding the extra letter was also in full effect, names like Beckyy.com and Stickky.com. There were a few with the extra repeating letter in the middle, names like Treaasure.com.
The dot .io got some play with names like Rebrand.io and Vintage.io to name a couple.
DNBolt may be retiring from providing BB sales data.
In a posting on Namepros, DNBolt posted:
DNBolt has been a help to many and if they stop posting they will be missed by many brandable investors.
