ICE.COM $3.5m Sale One of 20 Biggest Reported Sales of all Time

The domain name ice.com sold for $3.5 million to Intercontinental Exchange, who currently use theice.com as their home online and where ice.com is currently redirecting.

According to the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales of all time, a chart that has been compiled since 2003, it would be the 14th biggest sale ever and the biggest since the November 2016 sale of HG.com for CNY ¥26,000,000 (then $3,770,000) according to Domain Name Journal. The largest reported sale to date is sex.com, which sold for $13 million.

The previous registrant was an online business selling consumer jewellery products, founded in 1999, reports Online Domain. They moved from ICE.com to icetrends.com recently.

The sale was brokered by veteran domain brokers Brian Harbin from GritBrokerage.com and David Clements from Brannans.com who teamed up 2018’s biggest sale so far, according to Domain Name Journal. It’s almost triple the amount paid for Super.com which sold for $1.2 million in March.
